Call for Abstract (Closed)

The Council on Forest Engineering (COFE), International Symposium on Forest Mechanization (FORMEC), and International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) Division 3 invite researchers, students, and professionals to submit abstracts for presentation at the 2022 Joint Conference.  The meeting will feature a wide range of exciting talks, discussions and networking opportunities with Forest Operations and Engineering researchers, industry experts, government agencies and academics.

Presentation abstracts on forest operations and engineering are welcome froresearchers, students, and professionals from around the world.  Abstracts will be peer-reviewed and accepted based on content, quality, and available space for oral and poster presentations. Acceptance of individual abstracts for inclusion in the Joint Meeting will be emailed to the authors no later than June 30, 2022.

Abstract Deadline: June 15, 2022 (Abstract submission has been closed)
Instructions for Abstract Submission
  • Enter your presentation title, authors, author affiliations and abstract in the online form (Abstract Submission).

  • Limit your abstract to the maximum of 400 words.

  • Submit the completed abstract form electronically by the deadline, June 15, 2022

Oral vs. Poster Presentations

Select your preferred presentation format, oral or poster.  The Conference Scientific Committee will do its best to accommodate your preference.  Instructions for preparation of oral or poster presentations will be sent to individual authors after acceptance of abstracts.  ​

Publication of Abstracts and Full Papers

All accepted abstracts will be published in the Conference Proceedings. Additional information and guidelines for extended abstracts or full manuscripts will be provided.  Two publication options will be available for extended abstracts or full manuscripts:

  • Extended abstract or full manuscript in the Conference Proceedings (non-refereed);

  • Full manuscript in a special issue of the Croatian Journal of Forest Engineering (refereed).

The 2nd IUFRO Division 3 Doctoral Student Conference

IUFRO Division 3 Doctoral Student Conference will be held on September 28 – October 3, 2022 at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon.  PhD students who wish to participate in the Student Conference should submit abstracts through the 2022 COFE-FORMEC-IUFRO Conference website (https://www.cofe-formec-iufro2022.org/projects-8) and indicate attendance interest.  All Doctoral Student Conference participants can attend and present their research at COFE-FORMEC-IUFRO 2022 Conference.
